Battle for bragging rights

Not only is it a battle for the cup but a battle for pride and bragging rights

Once again, the Six Nations is coming to the end. It all comes down to the intense fray between England and Ireland. This match is not for the title, but for pride.

We asked two strong followers from either side their opinions on this match, prior to the upcoming crunch match between Ireland and England (Saturday 17th March, 14.45pm).

Mr Woollard is an England fan while Mr Daly is an Irish Fan.

Mr Woollard believes that the English performance so far is lack luster, he also believes there was not enough players at the ruck so it gave the opponents an easier time turn over the ball. There was not enough cohesion to give our backs a platform to show their "dynamic nature".

Mr Woollard has positively predicted the score to be 100-0 to the English although we all know this is won’t happen. Mr Woollards’ realistic opinion is that the score will be close, the Irish want victory but the English just scrape it with a score of 17-15.

Mr Daly believes that the Irish performance could have been stronger but "they made massive amounts of ground". If you look at the statistics for the six nations this year, they have made the least amount of tackles but were tackled the most amount of times. This shows how much it takes to stop them from scoring tries. Overall, they have remained unbeaten. Although they came close to losing focus in France due to the French becoming unstoppable.

Mr Daly's positive prediction is for Ireland to win 58-0, but if the English pickup their performance, this definitely won’t happen. His realistic view is 29-15 to the Irish.

This will be a very intense and important game for both sides. The Irish have won the title already but can they cap it off with a grand slam? Or will the English scratch their crown and only get the title with no grand slam. Only time will tell with the fixture being on the 17th March 2018.
