Sports Day

A little about the day:

On Wednesday 11th July 2018, Neale-wade Academy hosted a traditional sports day event- for years 7 to 9. Many people took part this year since it was an inter-form sports day. Not only did many students and teachers get involved, also did other members of a sports committee had helped in the triathlons membership, equipment and teaching matters. Their motivation was brilliant, as they tried to bring the best out of us and into the competition. We thank you for taking your time and coming out here.

How it planned out:

Overall, the day was brilliant it worked well as we competed against other forms and other years. Although it was just a fun experience, I think it will help us with the years to come. Each sport had their own complications but all planned out well. For example, the netball tournaments played like simple- each form would have a team with up to six players or more, they would play against all the forms teams. Then finally two form teams would play for the final winner who would come first in the netball event. There were many different specialised events to particularly help the people who weren’t interested and didn’t find the running activities very enjoyable and drawn to their eye.

Who got involved:

Many people got involved in the sports day this year. Everyone who did, were great to help and support the children taken part in the events. The people who did get involved were; Miss Bywater, six formers, form tutors, Mr Wing, PE teachers, many of the head of years and loads of the teachers.

What sports where there? :

In total there was seven different sports activities including; botcha, triathlon, heptathlon, golf, dance, netball and athletics, speed stacking, archery. All sports involved took an entire teams effort to get stuck in and try their best. Overall, when each team sports group played their part, we found out who gave the most motivation and played the best towards their form. Each form got an award for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place.
