Snowy storms sliding back

By Macey, Bobby, Angus, Alexis and Jenny

The so called ‘Beast from the East’ is said to make a return to Great Britain in a second round of snow and ice

The "Beast from the east" left hundreds of people inconvenienced in January. This Included Many Schools being closed, cars being stranded on the roads and power cuts across the country. Now it is due to pounce once again.

Experts estimate that there could be some people trapped in their homes or cars. The amount of road traffic accidents is also said to increase. Hundreds of ‘snow slides’, as they’re called, are expected to happen on the first day with numbers tripling in the following.

The government is worried that increased injuries to the public may result in a shortage of nurses. Increase funding to highway recovery and grit services are expected so the ‘Beast’ might hit the Government’s pockets as well.

Some schools as well are expected to close due to teachers and students not being able to attend.

Mrs Halls, our Geography Teacher believes that global climate change is partially to blame. She states that "the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere has pushed climates off axis and countries around the world are experiencing strange weather patterns." This is evident in East Anglia because the ‘Beast’ contains more snow than we’ve had in years.

Although schools in peterbourgh and Cambridge were forced to close, Our Local Schools Such as Neale-wade in March and Cromwell in Chaterris remained open. Will They be able to survive anouther battle with the "Beast From The East"? You will just have to wait and see.
